Gavin with Shale Blanket, oil on canvas, 16×20

Our friend and bronze casting instructor is on the Hawaii Craftsmen board, and she told me I needed to submit a painting of my knitting for the upcoming show, so I dutifully got to work painting something. Tomorrow is submission day, and I feel a bit conspicuous trying to shoehorn my way into a fiber exhibition with an oil painting, but that is what I’m doing, so let’s run with it. I did knit the grey blanket in the first place. I can bring it along to wave at people.

And you can’t even see the spot where a gecko pooped on it while the varnish was drying and I had to paint over it. You are immortal now, gecko.
